The red-haired blindside proved a handful for defenders in his fourth season in Queensland with his bullish running one of the more attractive elements of his game. The 2013 season also saw Quirk achieve a career milestone, starting against the British & Irish Lions as the Reds faced the tourists at Suncorp Stadium. Quirk’s 2013 efforts came off the back of a solid 2012 campaign that saw him grow as regular performer within the match-day squad, before a shoulder reconstruction ended what was otherwise a promising year for the youngster. On his way to the Reds, Quick has compiled an impressive representative resume which included Queensland U16s (2007); Queensland Schoolboys (2008); Australia A (2008), Australian Schoolboys (2008); QAS Reds Academy (2009-10); Australian Sevens (2009-10) and Australian U20s (2010-2011). After looking certain to fully recover after an ankle injury plagued his 2012 run, an accident sidelined the flanker prior to the first round of competition. Robinson returned to the field 11 games into the 2013 season and played seven Super Rugby matches for the Reds, taking his career tally to 58 after representing the Waratahs between 2007-09. Showing his mettle in the 2012 Super Rugby campaign, Robinson battled his ankle injury on a weekly basis while still managing to play a significant role in 15 of the club’s 17 matches. He was rewarded by playing his 50th career Super Rugby game and hopes to add to that with an uninterrupted 2014 season.
