Hanson featured in 15 of the Reds’ Super Rugby encounters in 2013, including five starts, but a neck injury ruled him out of selection toward the back end of the season, forcing him to miss the last two games. Such is the hooker’s consistency that he’s missed just three games in the last three seasons for the Reds. Hanson’s efforts in 2012 were initially recognised by selection in the Wallabies’ June training squad while he also travelled to South Africa as injury cover ahead of the Australia’s clash against the Springboks in The Rugby Championship. He went on to make his Test debut for Australia in the third Bledisloe of 2012; a stunning match that finished in an 18-all draw at Suncorp Stadium. MIKE HARRIS @mikeymikeharris Position: Centre Physical: 186cm/96kg Date of Birth: 8 July, 1988 Place of Birth: North Harbour, NZL Super Rugby Caps: 31 Super Rugby Points: 201 Super Rugby Debut: Round 2, 2011 vs Waratahs, Sydney Test Caps: 10 Test Points: 55 Test Debut 5 June 2012 vs Scotland, Newcastle A sniper with the boot, Reds utility Mike Harris will be looking to reestablish himself as his team’s first choice inside centre in 2014. Harris played just eight Super Rugby games in 2013, along with a run from the bench against the British & Irish Lions, but backed up his season with selection in the Australian Spring Tour squad. The 2012 season was a record-breaking Super Rugby campaign for Harris with his accurate kicking first drawing headlines in the early stages of the year after he broke Morné Steyn’s goal-kicking streak of 21. Harris also kicked nine goals at Suncorp Stadium against the Force to equal the mark set by Queensland great John Eales in 1996. Despite having already played for New Zealand at a junior level, Harris is eligible for Australian selection by way of an Australianborn grandmother and has 10 Test caps to his name.
