The Port Moresby-born scrumhalf brought his tally of Super Rugby caps to 85, with a strong and uninterrupted 2014 sure to see him earn his 100th appearance at the elite level. Will was also an integral part of the Wallabies side that took on the British & Irish, setting up Israel Folau’s first Test try in sensational fashion. Genia was a mainstay in the national setup for The Rugby Championship and Spring Tour, adding a combined 15 Tests to his total for the year. Despite only featuring in 12 Super Rugby games last season, Genia ranked sixth overall in total passes (847) and second behind only Brendan McKibbin (70.75) in passes per game (70.58), showing his value as an elite ball distributor. At the national level, Gill was part of the Australian side that faced the British & Irish Lions. The second Test in Melbourne saw him replace Wycliff Palu in the 60th minute and create his own piece of history, stealing a late Lions’ throw deep in the Wallabies’ half to help his country square the series. He was again selected in the Wallabies squads for The Rugby Championship and Spring Tour. His 24 turnovers won ranked equalsecond in Super Rugby last season.
