After playing the final two games of the 2012 season, Alo-Emile featured on a regular basis throughout the 2013 season, making 16 appearances and scoring one try. Of Samoan heritage and growing up in Queensland, Alo-Emile represented the Australian Schoolboys while at Brisbane High School and his promise saw him begin involvements with the Australian Rugby Union’s National Talent Squad. A fixture in the Australian U20 squad in 2010 and 2011, Alo-Emile was a key member of the group that finished third in the Junior World Championships. The future appears bright and at just 22, he still has a lot of time to develop into a top class front-row forward, although his rise thus far has already been rapid. LUKE BURGESS @luburge Position: Scrumhalf Physical: 179cm/87kg Date of Birth: 20 August 1983 Place of Birth: Newcastle, AUS Super Rugby Caps: 59 Super Rugby Points: 20 Super Rugby Debut: Round 10, 2005 vs Hurricanes, Wellington Test Caps: 37 Test Points: 5 Test Debut 14 June 2008 vs Ireland, Melbourne Former Wallaby scrumhalf Luke Burgess joined the club from Toulouse in June last year following more than 50 appearances for the four-time Heineken Cup champions between 2011-13. Burgess, who has represented his country on 37 occasions, has played alongside many members of the team’s backroom staff. The Sydney University player began his Super Rugby career in Canberra with the Brumbies (2003-07) alongside foundation Rebel captain Stirling Mortlock before moving to the Waratahs where he played 56 games between 2008-11. Burgess will play a key role in helping with the development of young scrumhalf Nic Stirzaker, as well as providing great leadership to a young Rebels backline. Burgess brings his wife Emilie and daughter Freya to Melbourne with him and has committed to the club for three seasons.
