He scored his first Super Rugby try in the 21-15 victory over the Brumbies after capitalising on a barnstorming Nick Cummins break. The 22-year-old former Queensland Schoolboys representative also played for Fiji in the 2010 and 2011 U20 sides at the IRB Junior World Championship. He attended Brisbane’s Anglican Church Grammar School, which is also the former stomping ground of Quade Cooper and David Pocock. Stander brings provincial experience, having played 24 matches with the Natal Sharks at Currie Cup and Vodacom Cup level during 2012 and 2013. The barnstorming back-rower was recognised as the Sharks’ ‘Forward of the Year’ during their 2013 Vodacom Cup campaign and joined the Force on a two-year deal prior to the 2014 Super Rugby campaign.
