Cowan began his Super Rugby journey with the Force in its inaugural season in 2006 and has been a consistent performer for the club over the years. His versatility across the front-row and on-field leadership have seen him become a permanent fixture in the forward pack, with the veteran assuming the captaincy for three matches during the 2013 Super Rugby season. Only Alby Mathewson played more minutes (1120, 16 appearances) last season than the resilient prop (1113, 15 appearances). NICK CUMMINS @nckcmmns Position: Wing Physical: 189cm/99kg Date of Birth: 5 October 1987 Place of Birth: Port Macquarie, AUS Super Rugby Caps: 59 Super Rugby Points: 45 Super Rugby Debut: Round 1, 2008 vs Sharks, Durban Test Caps: 12 Test Points: 25 Test Debut 6 October 2012 vs Argentina, Rosario Nick Cummins – or the ‘Honey Badger’ – has been a mainstay of the Force backline after making his Super Rugby debut in 2008. The incumbent Wallaby winger provides speed to the Force backline and an ability to puncture the line with his fearless and powerful running. He will be looking to see more of the ball in 2014 after a knee injury restricted him to just six games in 2013. Cummins added a further six caps and three tries to his international total in The Rugby Championship and Spring Tour in 2013. He was recognised by his peers as the Rugby Union Players’ Association Medal of Excellence winner and despite featuring just six times last season, he posted the second highest average gain at the Force (7.16 metres) behind Sam Christie (8.09m).
