The two-metre tall tight forward enters his third season with the Force. In 2013, Battye was named in the side to face the British & Irish Lions in Perth and was given another opportunity when selected in the starting XV for the Combined Country side. Battye will look to build on his 11 Super Rugby caps and compete for opportunities alongside Sam Wykes, Hugh McMeniman and new recruit Wilhelm Steenkamp.. Despite reaching 190cm, Brache is an agile centre with a strong work ethic and brings a solid background in provincial rugby to the Perth club. He has four seasons and 41 caps of Currie Cup experience under his belt with Western Province, and has represented the Stormers at Super Rugby level, where he played in 2012. He represented the University of Cape Town in the Varsity Cup and is eligible for the United States on account of being born in Los Angeles.
