Strong in contact and surprisingly agile around the park, the Melbourne-born Samoan hooker has shown he’s got what it takes at professional level. After making his long-awaited debut against the Reds in Round 1 last season, Siliva went on to collect another 10 caps and was named the starting hooker in the club’s historic win over the British and Irish Lions. Siliva made his starting debut against the Kings at Canberra Stadium and was one of the teams’ better performers on the night. He also claimed a try against the Force – where he spent a year in 2011 – and notched a second career start against his home-town Rebels in Round 17. SCOTT SIO @ScottSio Position: Prop Physical: 187cm/116kg Date of Birth: 16 October 1991 Place of Birth: Sydney, AUS Super Rugby Caps: 21 Super Rugby Points: 5 Super Rugby Debut: Round 6, 2012 vs Sharks, Canberra Test Caps: 4 Test Points: 0 Test Debut 17 August 2013 vs New Zealand, Sydney Educated at Sydney’s Trinity Grammar and representing New South Wales and Australian Schoolboys, Scott Sio is one of the fastest rising stars in Australian rugby. Since making his Super Rugby debut against the Sharks in 2012, Sio has not put a foot wrong and continues to develop into a worldclass front-rower. Just 21 games into what could be 100-plus game career, Sio has already achieved a remarkable amount including playing 18 matches of the club’s 2013 campaign and earning four Australian caps. But the most exciting thing about Sio is his thirst for front-row knowledge and capacity to put what he’s taught into action. Together with Stephen Moore and Ben Alexander, they form one of the best provincial front rows in the Southern Hemisphere, with Sio an essential link in the trio’s ambitions.
