Speedy and strongly built, the South Africa Sevens ace is more than comfortable on the wing or at fullback and will be aiming to make an impact at Super Rugby level despite suffering a freak knee injury during pre-season training. Kolbe has represented WP at numerous youth levels, as well as South Africa at the 2013 Junior World Championship in France. He made his Super Rugby debut before his 21st birthday and his Test debut followed just over a year later, culminating in a Man of the Match performance against Scotland in Nelspruit in June 2013. Comfortable in any back row position, his rugby hero is Jean de Villiers. Kolisi’s 150 tackles during the 2013 Super Rugby season led the team’s tackle count, which is an even more impressive feat when considering he played just 13 matches during the campaign.
