He has been identified as a future Springbok, having been called up to the national training squad as cover in 2013, which provided brilliant experience. With 23 Super Rugby caps, Herbst has been an important member of the Sharks over the last few years and was one of five Sharks to play all 16 of the team’s matches last season. PAUL JORDAAN @PaulJordaan12 Position: Centre Physical: 180cm/92kg Date of Birth: 4 January 1992 Place of Birth: Somerset East, RSA Super Rugby Caps: 18 Super Rugby Points: 5 Super Rugby Debut: Round 12, 2010 vs Bulls, Pretoria Test Caps: 0 Test Points: 0 Test Debut – Paul Jordaan’s 2013 aspirations came to a shuddering halt when he suffered a season-ending knee injury on the training ground in Sydney. Prior to that stage, the barnstorming centre had played every single minute of the Sharks’ season throughout eight matches. A dynamic player with acceleration, pace and a vicious side-step, Jordaan will look to put the disappointments of last year behind him and play a big role for the Sharks in 2014.
