He possesses an incredibly high work rate and often leads the tackle stats with his dedicated defensive prowess. His 179 tackles – with just 12 missed – led the Sharks last Super Rugby season. A powerful ball carrier, Coetzee’s value lies as an all-round contributor to the team, making him an integral member of the side. In addition to his tackling capacity, Coetzee is a highly-durable player and was one of just five Sharks to feature in all 16 matches for the club last season, logging 1106 minutes in the process.
