Having accumulated 63 Super Rugby caps playing top-flight rugby for over a decade, the veteran hooker will provide welcome experience in the front row. Known for his mobility and immense work rate, Wepener represented Clermont during a French spell in 2009-10 and has played for numerous domestic clubs including the Leopards, Griquas, Cats, Golden Lions and Blue Bulls. The talented No. 8 made his Super Rugby debut in 2011, playing in every game of the tournament. His physicality and strong presence with ball in hand sets him apart from his peers. Whiteley has international experience after representing the South Africa Sevens during the 2012-13 season. He also had stints at the Natal Sharks (2008-09) and the Mighty Elephants (2009).
