A talented scrumhalf who can pass, run and kick, Hoffmann goes head-to-head with Nic White and fellow new recruit Michael Dowsett, who joins the Extended Playing Squad. Hoffmann made his Super Rugby debut in 2011 with the Sharks after spending four years in Cape Town with the Stormers and Western Province. A move to the Sharks provided him with the vital breakthrough he had been looking for at Super Rugby level. Hoffmann brings plenty of rugby experience to Canberra and is likely to be a regular in the club’s match day 22 throughout the 2014 Super Rugby season. It’s a dizzying rise for the Fijian native who represented his country of birth at U20 level before being making the switch the Australian U20s, Sevens, Reds Academy and finally the Brumbies in 2012. Now in his third year of professional rugby, Kuridrani has been compared to some of Australia’s best outside backs such as Lote Tuqiri, Jason Little and Daniel Herbert. Kuridrani scored four tries throughout 17 games last year and also managed to find the line in the club’s historic win against the British and Irish Lions. Off the field, Kuridrani enjoys playing board games with the boys and claims to be the club’s best at Jenga.
