The aged-grade South African representative featured in seven Super Rugby games for the Stormers, the last of his caps occurring in 2011. Most recently, Cronjé spent the 2013 Currie Cup with the Lions in Johannesburg where he played alongside new Brumbies teammate Stephan van der Walt. Cronjé is a quality kicker – both in general play and for goal – which complements his strong running game and accomplished ball skills. The South African is big, fast, talented and will prove difficult for opponents to shut down in 2014. SCOTT FARDY @Scottfardy Position: Flanker Physical: 198cm/110kg Date of Birth: 5 July 1984 Place of Birth: Sydney, AUS Super Rugby Caps: 30 Super Rugby Points: 15 Super Rugby Debut: Round 1, 2012 vs Force, Canberra Test Caps: 10 Test Points: 0 Test Debut 17 August 2013 vs New Zealand, Sydney During the last two years, Scott Fardy has shown that you can in fact teach an old dog new tricks. Plucked from the relative obscurity of Fukushima in northern Japan at the tail end of 2011, Fardy has made his way to the top of the pile and is now considered Australia’s premier blindside flanker. A big, strong ball runner who prides himself on work ethic, Fardy has developed into one of the nation’s leading ball thieves, averaging just over one pilfer a game which ranked him in the top 15 last Super Rugby season. Fardy made his Test debut in a 29-47 loss to New Zealand in Sydney last year and went on to play every match of Australia’s campaign in The Rugby Championship, maintaining his steal-a-game average. Along with Henry Speight, Fardy is a notorious sweet tooth and has been known to down full packets of jelly babies in a single sitting.
