2014 SUPER RUGBY MEDIA GUIDE BULLS 244 WAYLON MURRAY @waylonmurray Position: Centre Physical: 190cm/101kg Date of Birth: 27 April 1986 Place of Birth: Durban, RSA Super Rugby Caps: 62 Super Rugby Points: 40 Super Rugby Debut: Round 3, 2006 vs Crusaders, Timaru Test Caps: 4 Test Points: 0 Test Debut 9 June 2007 vs Samoa, Johannesburg Waylon Murray joins the squad for the first time and will be expected to hit the ground running after plenty of Super Rugby experience with the Sharks (2006-10), Lions (2011-12) and Kings (2013). His running lines and eye for a gap has made Murray a menace on attack, but he will have to use his opportunity well if he wants to start on a regular basis among a competitive midfield. Experienced and skilled, Murray has much to offer to his fourth Super Rugby franchise and is the only current player who made his debut at Timaru. Having undergone knee surgery prior to the 2013 campaign, Murray featured in just seven matches for the Kings last season and will be keen to see more action this year. RYAN NELL @_ryan_nell Position: Utility Back Physical: 192cm/97kg Date of Birth: 4 September 1990 Place of Birth: Port Elizabeth, RSA Super Rugby Caps: 0 Super Rugby Points: 0 Super Rugby Debut: – Test Caps: 0 Test Points: 0 Test Debut – Lanky outside back Ryan Nell shot to prominence with a number of very promising performances for the University of Stellenbosch during the 2012 Varsity Cup and it was no surprise when Springbok Sevens coach Paul Treu called him into his squad a couple of weeks later. Returning to fifteens last season, Nell again impressed with strong play for Western Province and was drafted by the Blue Bulls to continue his rugby in Gauteng. Strong running, speed and the awareness to take good running lines will help Nell in his bid to break into the match day squad.
