A former South African Schools player, Jesse Kriel played for the Junior Springboks and the Blue Bulls U21 as an 18-year-old in 2013 and showed good form. His debut season at Super Rugby level will be one of learning the ropes, but with physical ability to match his skills and pace, Kriel will be keen to showcase his talent to a wider audience. WERNER KRUGER @kruger_werner Position: Prop Physical: 189cm/117kg Date of Birth: 23 January 1985 Place of Birth: Kempton Park, RSA Super Rugby Caps: 92 Super Rugby Points: 40 Super Rugby Debut: Round 1, 2008 vs Stormers, Cape Town Test Caps: 4 Test Points: 0 Test Debut 23 July 2011 vs Australia, Sydney It is hard to imagine a Bulls pack without Werner Kruger, who has earned his reputation as one of the hardest working props in the competition. The former Springbok will hit rucks all day, cleaning out opponents and when needed, will take the ball into contact in order to create space for faster teammates. Kruger will be in a battle with Frik Kirsten for a starting berth, but such is the attitude and versatility of the player that he will be contributing efficiently and effectively whether he starts or plays off the bench. The resilient prop was one of three Bulls players to feature in all 17 of the team’s matches last season, playing 922 minutes and scoring a pair of tries.
