The 22-year-old was named the Hurricanes’ Rookie of the Year in 2012 and the attacking scrumhalf is quick to spot the gaps, making him a lively addition to any team he plays in. Perenara was still at Mana College when he made his provincial debut for Wellington in 2010. He captained and starred for the New Zealand Schools team in 2010, kicking 15 points in the 30-21 victory over Australia. He also won the Junior World Championship with New Zealand U20 the following year. The 24-year-old made 16 Super Rugby appearances last year, scoring seven tries and assisting a further six – topping both categories at the Hurricanes.
