He was part of the Crusaders’ Wider Training Group in 2012 and will be keen to show what he has to offer this year after injury de‑railed most of his debut campaign, playing just 262 minutes across four matches. McNicholl has excelled at both wing and fullback and if his 2012 Canterbury season is anything to go by, the youngster certainly has the potential to add some tries to the Crusaders’ tally. He can sniff an opportunity, has a remarkable ability to break through tackles and is a superb finisher. JOE MOODY Position: Prop Physical: 188cm/112kg Date of Birth: 18 September 1988 Place of Birth: Christchurch, NZL Super Rugby Caps: 16 Super Rugby Points: 0 Super Rugby Debut: Round 3, 2013 vs Blues, Auckland Test Caps: 0 Test Points: 0 Test Debut – Joe Moody was a member of the Wider Training Group in 2012 before being elevated to a full member of the squad last year. He quickly made his mark in the loosehead prop position, impressing so much during his debut Super Rugby season that he earned a call up to the All Blacks 2013 end of year tour. He still awaits his debut cap however after an injury sustained while taking Canterbury to a sixth straight provincial title dashed his Test hopes. As a former rugby league junior and New Zealand wrestling representative who won a junior Commonwealth Games bronze medal and competed at the world junior championships, Moody will be no pushover in the scrum.
