The Super Rugby champ with international experience returns to New Zealand this year after playing for the Canon Eagles in Japan throughout 2012-13. Thompson has represented Samoa in two Rugby World Cups, as well as playing for New Zealand Colts in 2002. His club experience includes the Highlanders (2006-07) and Dax (2007-10) prior to returning home and playing ITM Cup for Southland and Hawke’s Bay in 2011. Tikoirotuma is aerially strong while his speed, work rate and ability to roam on both sides of the field mean he is a potent weapon for the Chiefs. In his third season with the team, the effective communicator plays his ITM Cup rugby for Manawatu, but injury limited his game time in the last campaign. He helped the Turbos to the final of the ITM Cup Championship in 2011 and won the Heartland Player of the Year in 2009 with Wanganui in his fifth season with the provincial side.
