He possesses a high work rate and displays a uncompromising attitude to his rugby. The back-to-back Super Rugby champion was also a nominee for the 2013 Ultimate Rugby IRPA Awards. Entering his third season with the franchise, the former Chiefs Rookie of the Year, has also won a Junior World Championship in 2011 and is a key component of the forward pack. Retallick featured in all of the Chiefs’ 18 matches last season, playing 1315 minutes, behind only Aaron Cruden (1414) and Liam Messam (1360). Robinson enters his third season with the Chiefs and is an outstanding broken field runner, courageous in the air and an excellent kicker off both feet. Robinson plays his ITM Cup for Southland and slotted a memorable kick to win the Ranfurly Shield in 2011. He was part of the 2009 New Zealand U20 Junior World Championship winning side and captained New Zealand Schools in 2007. He started his Super Rugby career with the Highlanders where he played from 2010-11 and featured in 10 matches for the Chiefs last season. Although he scored just one try, it was an incredibly timely one off the bench that helped clinch the Super Rugby Final against the Brumbies.
