Donnelly made his Super Rugby debut for the Highlanders in 2004 and earned the first of his 15 Test caps against Australia in 2009. After eight years with the Highlanders, Donnelly joined the Crusaders in 2012 and headed overseas to join the Mitsubishi Club in Japan later that year, before returning for the Crusaders’ 2013 Super Rugby campaign. Faumuina plays most of his rugby at tighthead but has the ability to cover loosehead, with his deft footwork, impressive ball skills and physicality making him a standout. He had a breakthrough year with the Blues in 2012, being named Player of the Year, and was rewarded with an All Blacks call-up. Faumuina’s 2013 Blues campaign was cut short after he suffered a season-ending calf injury against the Waratahs, however he bounced back in great shape and had a fantastic season with the All Blacks. The Blues are excited about getting Faumuina back in action in 2014 and seeing him take on more of a leadership role within the group.
