In doing so, he became the 866th Australian representative. Ryan grew up in Tamworth, playing his junior rugby for the Tamworth Pirates. He was schooled at St Joseph’s College and was a member of the Australian Schools squad in 2006. His rugby career was put on ice for his first year out of school when he spent time in Ireland, but upon his return, was fast-tracked into the Junior Waratahs development system. He is studying for a Bachelor of Business from University of Technology, Sydney. WILL SKELTON @SkeltonWilliam Position: Lock Physical: 203cm/135kg Date of Birth: 3 May 1992 Place of Birth: Auckland, NZL Super Rugby Caps: 6 Super Rugby Points: 0 Super Rugby Debut: Round 13, 2013 vs Stormers, Sydney Test Caps: 0 Test Points: 0 Test Debut – Will Skelton made his Super Rugby debut against the Stormers in May and represented the club against the British & Irish Lions in front of a capacity crowd at Allianz Stadium the following month. Born in New Zealand to parents of Samoan descent, Skelton is the cousin of former All Black lock Brad Mika. He moved to Sydney aged 10 and attended the Hills Sports High School in Seven Hills. After missing most of 2012 with a fractured foot sustained at the Australian Rugby Union’s National Academy, the towering youngster was given a chance with a spot in the 2013 Extended Playing Squad. He quickly impressed and signed a full-time contract for the 2014 season. Skelton wears size 18 boots and is currently studying for a Commerce degree at the Australian Catholic University. He was presented with the Chris Whitaker Aspiring Waratah Award at the club’s 2013 end of season function.
