He made his Super Rugby debut in 2010 and went on to represent the Australian Barbarians against England before captaining Australia at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi and earning selection for the Wallabies’ Spring Tour of Hong Kong and Europe. Names as the Waratahs’ off-field captain in 2013, McCutcheon first led the sky blues on the field in the second of the NSW Barbarians two-match tour of Argentina in August last year. McCutcheon grew up on a farm in the country town of Narromine, 40 kilometres west of Dubbo but now resides in Glebe. The self-professed country boy still enjoys riding motorcycles and takes particular pride in his Harley Davidson, affectionately nicknamed ‘Betty.’ He is also the proud owner of a corgi called Wally. BRENDAN MCKIBBIN @brendanmckibbin Position: Scrumhalf Physical: 175cm/85kg Date of Birth: 19 September 1985 Place of Birth: Irvine, SCO Super Rugby Caps: 46 Super Rugby Points: 243 Super Rugby Debut: Round 7, 2009 vs Chiefs, Brisbane Test Caps: 0 Test Points: 0 Test Debut – Brendan McKibbin was born in Scotland and spent his early life in Kilmarnock before moving to Australia with his family when he was three years old. Growing up in Brisbane, McKibbin first played rugby at John Eales’ old school, Marist Brothers Ashgrove and spent a year with the Reds in 2009. An openside flanker at schoolboy level and U19, McKibbin only switched to scrumhalf to play senior rugby and he served as the Waratahs’ first choice throughout the 2013 Super Rugby season. After moving to Sydney, McKibbin was made to wait until 2011 for his chance with the Waratahs and even then, he notched just 18 minutes of game time. But it was a different story the following year as he established himself as a mainstay within the side, which is where he has remained. He is currently studying for a Bachelor of Education.
