Rugby is the third major football code for ‘Izzy,’ who has also achieved club, state and international level honours in rugby league and was a member of the AFL’s Greater Western Sydney Giants. Brought up in Minto, Folau was first introduced to rugby at age 12 and played a number of games at outside centre for Westfield Sports High School. After just 14 games in Super Rugby, Israel made his international debut against the British & Irish Lions at Suncorp Stadium, scoring the opening try. He was a silver medalist with the Australian Sevens team at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi and went on to captain the national squad on the 2010/11 IRB Sevens circuit. Foley grew up in Dural in Sydney’s northwest and attended Redfield College before relocating to study at St Aloysius College. He has a Bachelor of Economics from Sydney University, whom he also represents in the Shute Shield competition.
